Missed out on a juicy, cheesy, meaty In-N-Out Burger when they were in town? If you live in Melbourne, all's not lost, as Footscray favourite 8bit has opened a new site in the CBD - and we can see the lunchtime queues from here.

Famous for its burgers, shakes, chilli fries and hotdogs - all of which would have been perfectly at home in an '80s American diner - 8bit is all about the retro, from the styling (inspired by '80s-era video games and the work of Architects Eat) to the sauces (homemade and including sriracha, chipotle mayo, ketchup and their own 8bit sauce). Expect pickles and mustard on your burgers and potato gems on the side - loaded, if you like, with chilli beef, cheese sauce, bacon, pickle relish, grilled onions and jalapenos.

If you're really throwing calorie consumption to the wind, the shakes are worth the extra workout later - try the Strawberry Cheese Cake shake or the Peanut Butter shake, topped, of course, with Reese's Pieces. 8bit CBD is open seven days a week from 11am until late (did somebody say midnight snack?).
