You don’t become a Melbourne hotspot for no reason. Lucy Liu’s is a culinary good time

Not that we needed any further proof that a new restaurant tucked away in a laneway always equals good times for your tastebuds, but we'll happily add Lucy Liu's to the mounting evidence.

Firstly let's clear this up: the restaurant has absolutely no connection with the actress of the same name, but make no mistake it does have culinary star power to spare.

The Lucy Liu's menu offers dishes inspired by Korean, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese cooking so expect everything from Korean Fried Chicken Ribs with kewpie mayo to Peking duck dumplings with hoi sin sauce and BBQ lap chong hot dogs on a toasted milk bun. (Hungry, yet?) If you're feeling particularly adventurous (or indecisive) there's a 'Let Lucy Choose' 5 or 7 dish tasting menu from just $55 and $65 respectively.

This is Asian fusion at its best and most fun. In fact, you may even feel inspired to Instagram a dish or two. People do that now, right?
