This is one of those times: The Café of London's ritzy Hotel Café Royal has transformed itself to offer the most decadent dining experience imaginable - an entire restaurant dedicated to dessert. Dishing up the kind of sweet treats not seen since Johnny Depp's madcap turn as Willy Wonka, the restaurant will do away with traditional mains in favour of three-course and five-course tasting menus designed around a whimsical Alice in Wonderland theme.

Have the chocolate cravings kicked in yet? To whet your appetite, the sugar-laden menu includes Queen of Hearts (a melange of raspberries, champagne and roses), Eat Me, Drink Me (Snickers and chocolate malt shakes) and a Pick 'n' Mix smorgasbord consisting of executive pastry chef Sarah Burton's takes on old-school favourites like jaffa cakes and rhubarb and custard.

A strictly limited selection of savoury small dishes will be available for weak well-adjusted dinner guests, such as Milky Way - goat's cheese, wild honey and something called beetroot snow - and chicken foie with quince and brioche. There's also an optional wine pairing menu.

Already booking your flights? The tasting menus start from £26 per person - and we hear you can also take treats away.
