Sydneysiders: grab your caddy and prepare to tee-off, because Newtown is getting a new two-storey adult playground dedicated to mini-golf, cocktails and good old-fashioned fun.

With hugely popular in outposts in Melbourne and Brisbane, Holey Moley is the brainchild of Melbourne-based company Fun-Lab, the team behind Strike bowling clubs and Sky Zone trampoline parks.

Hole in one: Sydney’s new mini-golf-themed bar

Giving new meaning to the phrase, "watering-hole", Holey Moley's Sydney bar promises "the craziest mini golf you've ever played'. Each of its 18 holes will be decked out in extravagant, kitsch themes, loaded with pop culture references and 90s nostalgia - from Game of Thrones to the Simpsons to Super Mario.

The food and drink offerings are equally tongue in cheek, with the Caddyshack bar serving up pun-laden cocktails like Teeyonce Knowles, Happy Gilmoreo, Long Island Iced Tee and Tee-Quila Mocking Birdie. The Take A Bao stop will be at the ready for laid-back, off-the-green grub.

Holey Moley will take over the much-loved live-music haunt Newtown Social Club, which closed in April citing Sydney's "current regulatory climate" for its demise.

Fun-Lab has promised to keep the spirit of live music alive in the venue, promising a mash up of "art, music and mini golf" as well as "monthly live music nights, comps for local artists to come play and local DJ sets every weekend."

Holey Moley is set to open its doors this July, bringing its irreverent, off-the-wall brand of fun to the bohemian neighbourhood of Newtown. Keep an eye on their website for more details and get ready to par-tee.
