You don't have to - everyone's favourite Italian eatery, Fratelli Fresh, has extended its hours to include breakfast, and knocking back a plate of San Daniele prosciutto with fresh figs and stracciatella di bufala, espresso by your side and sun on your shoulders, has got to be the next best thing to waking up in Cinque Terre (okay, so a little imagination might be required, but you get the picture).
Both the Potts Point and Walsh Bay sites will serve brekky from 7am-2pm, and their debut morning menu is quintessential Fratelli - think good food, cooked well, made from high quality ingredients. Expect to see their baked truffle eggs with fontina and mozzarella, $18, high on all future lists of best breakfasts in Sydney (yes, we're calling it) while the aforementioned prosciutto plate presents the ideal lighter option for the midday bruncher. They're also edging in on Bill Granger's territory with a plate of ricotta and blueberry pancakes served with lemon curd, citrus syrup and orange zest. Bliss.
The menu is accompanied by Parker's cold-pressed juices and freshly squeezed OJ or apple. If this doesn't get you out of bed early on a Sunday, nothing will.
