A modern sushi bowl joint has opened at Bondi Beach
Build your own
What do you get when you mix Japanese sashimi with salad and add a dash of Hawaiian cuisine and the health food scene of LA? A traditional-yet-modern dish known as poké - or, in layman's terms - raw fish salad. While traditional poké might originate from Hawaii, new Bondi Beach eatery Fishbowl has given the dish a 2016 twist by allowing you to build you own salad base and add your own delicious extras.
Kind of like a Japanese donburi or deconstructed sushi roll, Fishbowl's build-you-own ethos allows you to select from the fresh-from-the-sea flavours of salmon, tuna, kingfish (or tofu, if you're vego), then add your choice of grains or carbs, veggies, sauce and garnish. Healthy, casual and simple, Fishbowl are styling themselves as an LA-style modern Japanese food bar. And the best bit? They're nestled right opposite Bondi Beach, so you can drop in for a feed before or after a dip in Sydney's most famous beach.
Located at Bondi's newest dining, retail, hotel and residential hub - Pacific Bondi Beach on Campbell Parade - Fishbowl Pokè is open 7 days a week, 11am-10pm.
