Open fire pits, cheese platters, soul food and acoustic tunes to the taste of South Australia's best winter reds, this festival held in the Adelaide Hills may just be the ultimate winter getaway.

With more than 30 wineries and producers involved, including  Golding Wines, Bird in Hand, Sidewood Estate, O'Leary Walker Wines, Morderelle Wines, and Riposte Wines, Winter Reds is a celebration of all the sumptuous offerings that the Adelaide Hills has to offer, both on the vines and on the ground.

Held over two days, the festival takes place day and night, and is free to enter with $10 purchase of a Speigelau wine glass (with some foodie and tasting events begin ticketed separately) and boasts such events as fireplace-side tastings, chocolate and dessert wine pairings, various degustation dinners to indulge in and global red wine showcases (such as Scott & La Prova Wines' Spanish and Italian wine cheese and charcuterie event).

With the rolling Adelaide Hills as the background and a rosy (rosé?) hued-tinge, we couldn't think of a cosier romantic getaway this winter.
