A former Spice Temple chef is bringing authentic Asian eats to the East (of Sydney)
It's safe to say East London executive chef Jack Steer knows his dumplings - with stints at China Doll, Chin Chin, Rockpool Bar & Grill and Press Club under his belt, as well as Spice Temple, he's incredibly well-versed in Shanghai and Sichuan cuisine. And the spiced aromas wafting down the stairs at Paddington's The London Hotel are fragrant proof.
East London is the new 80-seater contemporary Asian restaurant and bar occupying the top floor of The London Hotel, with dishes designed to share and inspired by traditional Chinese comfort food. Think drowned fish with dried chilli, shallots, bean sprouts and chicken broth; wontons with bug meat, prawn, chilli and Sichuan pepper and crispy Sichuan duck with pickled cucumber and five spice.
