Anyone prone to wistfully recalling days spent sauntering the cobbled streets of Paris, Colette shopping bag in one hand and crepe a la crème de marron in the other, take heart: you can now replicate that experience in Sydney (sans, sadly, the shopping bag. And the Eiffel tower views).
European-style, hand-held crepes have come to Sydney care of Love Crepe, the new venture now open in Pyrmont. It's the passion project of brothers Nick and Mike Kondilis, who are cooking the family crepe recipe they grew up indulging in.
Crepe flavours include Nutella with banana and biscuits, dark chocolate with strawberries and coconut and custard with apples and dulce de leche. There's also the decadent Love Crepe - a concoction of white chocolate buttercream, banana, dulce de leche, biscuit and vanilla crème gelato.
Speaking of gelato, the creperie doubles as a gelataria, serving flavours like salted pistachio, tiramisu, Valrhona chocolate, date and walnut and pineapple and mint sorbetto. We feel obliged to also mention the Nutella thickshakes on the menu.
