The Chippo Hotel takes over from the pub formerly known as The Chippendale Hotel as the drinking and casual pub-grub dining destination for the inner city crew looking for an authentic pub experience. With a slick new look and a Louisiana-born head chef helming the kitchen, it's set to become everyone's fave new local - even if you don't live in the 2008 postcode.

Head chef Charlie Fisher brings a wealth of culinary chops to the kitchen - his most notable notch working the kitchens at Michelin selected restaurant Castel Marie-Louise in France - as well as flavour references from growing up in America's southern comfort food capital, Louisiana. The menu is true down home pub grub with a southern twist, think: coconut shrimp, southern fried chicken, Yankee-doodle meatballs, mac and cheese, chicken schnitzel, burgers (including cult favourite cheeky cheeseburger) and salads.

In honour of the relaunch, the pub is offering the chance for one lucky pub-goer to score a free burger every day for one entire year. That's right, 365 days of burger deliciousness. Entry to the comp is as easy as signing up to the pub newsletter on one of the iPads located in The Chippo Hotel. Winner to be announced November 14, 2016.

Still want more? The Chippo Hotel will be upping the in-house entertainment stakes with classic pub trivia on Mondays, comedy on Tuesdays and improv Wednesday. The weekend isn't left out with Sunday pig on the spit kicking off November 5.

The Chippo Hotel is located at 87-91 Abercrombie St, Chippendale
