Christmas markets are usually associated with Europe (along with snow, mulled wine and ginger schnapps), but now Sydney's getting in on the action in the most delicious way possible: Carriageworks Farmers Markets (until recently known as Eveleigh Markets) is holding a Twilight Christmas Market on December 23.

Get your turkey, ham, cherries, cheeses and all your fresh produce from local growers and artisans, plus festive fare like plum puddings, pastries and even Christmas trees. Stalls include Billy Kwong, Cornersmith, Flour & Stone,  Archie Rose Distillery and Mirrool Creek Lamb. You'll also be able to buy up on last minute gifts of the non-food variety, with stalls from Mud Ceramics, Maison Balzac and Dr Lisa Cooper's flowers, among others. The market kicks off at 4pm until 9pm on December 23; visit carriageworks.com.au for more details.
