Chivas Regal, which earnt the above title in 1909, has unveiled a top notch new drop: Chivas Regal The Icon. A potent blend of some of the oldest and rarest whiskies available from 20 distilleries across Scotland, the prestige spirit doesn't come cheap: strictly limited edition, a 700ml bottle will set punters back $4699 - anyone's going to need a stiff drink after that.
The world class whisky is said to be exceptionally smooth, with notes of honey, vanilla and dark chocolate balanced by subtle hazelnut influences from the cask - so if you like your Chivas Regal, you're going to love this. Created by the brand's master blender Colin Scott, it draws from the rarest malts from Strathisla, the oldest continuously operating distillery in the Scottish Highlands, along with hand-selected single malts from Longmourn and Glen Keith.

Housed in a hand-blown crystal decanter, the bottle befits the quality of whisky it contains, topped off with a stopper in the form of the traditional Celtic symbol of love - presumably because anyone prepared to fork out four grand must have pretty strong feelings for the stuff.
Need some help justifying the price? It's nothing compared to the bottle of Macallan sold at a Hong Kong auction earlier this year for a staggering $628,000 - making a cool $4699 look like an absolute bargain. And surely it's worth every penny if it makes you as suave as Don Draper (below).
