Meat-free Monday can take a raincheck, because in three days' time, on Monday February 22, we plan to feast on rib-eye steak and confit duck, accompanied by some of the country's finest wines.
Sound appealing? For just one night, The Cut Bar & Grill in The Rocks is hosting an intimate Penfolds wine dinner for a select number of guests. Over five courses - and eight matching wines - guests will sample some of Penfolds' finest, from the 2015 Bin 51 Riesling to the 2013 Cellar Reserve Pinot Noir and 2009 Grange.
Dishes include tempura oysters with yuzu mayo, grassland 500gm rib-eye with pomme dauphinoise and peppercorn sauce and Coffee Opera layered chocolate dessert (the latter to be served with a glass of NV Grandfather Rare Tawny).
The night will be hosted by Penfolds global ambassador Jamie Sach and will set you back $300 a head - bookings are essential here.
