A taste of Melbourne's newest restaurant: Woody P
Club Med
Woody P doesn't open its doors until May, but it's already generating buzz in foodie circles. Promising a relaxed vibe, excellent food and an equally appealing wine list, the hotly anticipated restaurant seems to be destined for big things (read: waiting lists on weekends).
Head chef Clinton Camilleri, who won the Healesville Hotel the Good Food Guide Regional Restaurant of the Year accolade last year, has created a menu with an emphasis on fresh produce and Mediterranean flavours. We had a sneak peek at the menu and the dishes he has planned include kingfish crudo with beetroot, mandarin, fennel, cucumber and horseradish and 48-hour beef rib with roast onions and gremolata.
The wine list is well-considered and mainly local, while the cocktails are distinctly Mediterranean, based on the idea of aperitifs. Woody P has an expansive outdoor dining area set with hanging planters, making it the perfect spot to kick back with a Campari or two on a Saturday afternoon. Head to woodyp.com.au.
