Proving that a good Italian is never out of style, the chefs from Pinbone, Mike Eggert and Jemma Whiteman, have teamed up with hospitality king pin Merivale to bring a casually cool American-style Italian eatery and good time venue to the drive-in bottle shop of the Tennyson Hotel in Mascot.

Cheekily sporting the moniker Mr Liquor's Dirty Italian Disco the eatery promises authentic, uncomplicated Italian eats like classic bruschetta, fusilli with lamb ragù, porchetta cooked on the grill with a side of fun times.

Although the driveway has been transformed to seat 90 diners the original bottle shop walk-in fridge is still on site and it's here diners choose their booze from. Meals are ordered at the counter and there's artwork around the pop-up from Sydney tattoo artist, Rick Vaughn.

"We want to execute food at a really high, but completely unpretentious level, and for people to cut loose a little bit, just like you're hanging out in someone's garage. It's super casual and super crazy," Eggert said in a press statement.

The pop-up opens this Friday October 20 and will run for the next six months. Merivale bought the Tennyson Hotel late last year but per a press statement has no immediate plans to refurb the pub.

Mr Liquor's Dirty Italian Disco is located at the Tennyson Hotel 952 Botany Rd, Mascot. It will be open from this Friday October 20 for the next six months. Opening hours are: Wednesday to Friday 6pm - 12am, Saturday 12pm - 12am and Sunday 12pm - 10am.
