Barangaroo continues to deliver more impressive restaurants, trendy bars and foodie hotspots - with 12-Micron being no exception. But what makes this 230-seater space so stella, is it not only caters for the fine-dining folk, but it also turns into a chic late-night dessert kitchen and bar.
To start, the mouth-watering restaurant menu is divided into four points: earth, ocean, land, and air. So you can expect a mixture of vegetable options, seafood concoctions and the finest quality of meat and bird dishes. To make things even more inviting, Executive Chef Justin Wise (The Press Club) focused on having a predominantly Australian- sourced restaurant. "I've gone as local as I can find so, apart from a couple of items which we're still trying to source locally, we proudly use Australian," says Wise. "The team has quite a bit of fine dining experience and so we'll take the food and service elements of that into a more relaxed dining experience at 12-Micron - impressive but not intimidating."
The dining space also accommodates a 64-seater dessert bar, and if you're a sweet tooth lover: you're wildest dessert-dreams have come true. We're talking the most indulgent, creative a la carte or degustation menu (you can choose up to 7 courses!) with an array of intricate sweets, pastries, cakes and more. All of which have been created by Darren Purchase, the true master of anything sweet. "You can get up close and personal with the pastry chefs as they prepare and plate your desserts so you can indulge in the sugar high of your life," Purchase explains.
The indoor/ outdoor space boasts spectacular views of Sydney harbour, which is perfectly complimented by the stylish interior of earthy cobbles and tiles, leather touches, seductive timber tables and wooden detailing.
So whether it's a wagu striploin, strawberry and white chocolate cheesecake or a late-night cocktail - we have a feeling 12-Micron will become your new go-to.
