A cookie dough parlour has opened and your sweetest dreams have come true
The new raw food movement
For those among us who have secretly harboured dreams of a Willy Wonka-esque world in which everything is made of sweet, sweet cookie dough, (No? Just us?) your day has finally arrived.
Scooped ice-cream-style into cups and ones, flattened into frozen ice-cream sandwiches, melted into brownies, folded into ice cream sundaes and milk shakes, baked into cupcakes and pies and stuffed with sprinkles, this Greenwich Village spot in New York City is where cookie dough comes to go next lev.
Called DŌ (pronounced 'dough'), the café was opened by 28 year-old entrepreneur, Kristen Tomlan. The raw dough uses pasteurised egg product and heat-treated flour to side-step that annoying 'No raw cookie dough' warning from the Federal Food and Drug Administration. So, all you need is a ticket to the states and its double scoops all the way.
But let's be honest, you were never going to let a little FDA warning stop you from sampling these fine flavours:
