Being the creative director of one of pop culture's most prolific artists wasn't enough. Virgil Abloh had to go on and start his own fashion label, Off-White, picking up the British Fashion Council's Urban Luxe Brand Award, the GQ Australia International Designer of the Year Award and collaborating with Nike, Ikea, Planned Parenthood and Guns N' Roses in the process; Not to mention directing a music video for Lil Uzi Vert - and that's just in 2017.

Now, news has broken of a solo exhibition opening at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Chicago, (Abloh's hometown) dedicated purely to the designer's career thus far from his beginnings on Kanye West's creative team, his collaborations with visual artists, musicians (including Queen Bey) and architects, his forays into furniture design and his game-changing runway collections. The exhibition will be supported by "a full program of youth-oriented programming and cross-disciplinary offerings that mirror the artist's wide interests," as detailed in the exhibition notes.

The bad news? The exhibition is in Chicago, as mentioned. The good news? It doesn't open until 2019, so you have plenty of time to work on those frequent flyer points to get you there.

Virgil Abloh will open at the MCA Chicago on June 9th, 2019 and run until the 22nd September, 2019. For more information, visit MCAChicago.org.
