The beauty of Airbnb comes down to the insider experience you get from staying in a local's house with a host who knows all the best parts of their 'hood and town. And the extension of this by Airbnb into their 'experiences' has taken that to another level, making any trip an incredibly rich dive into the culture of a foreign place.

To cater to the art-loving tourist, Airbnb Experiences and Sydney's iconic Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) have teamed up to create an elevated arty adventure going far beyond the regular walking art tours offered in most large galleries.

Over summer, Airbnb and the MCA are offering the two-hour tour hosted by award-winning Sydney artist Liam Benson. According to a release, during the tour, "...guests will learn about the cultural significance of the land the MCA sits upon and explore the deeper meaning behind some of his (Benson's) favourite artworks in the MCA Collection."  Following that, guests will make their own art during a sesh with Benson in the MCA's creative studios.

The tour will finish over drinks, canapés and killer harbour views at either the MCA's rooftop café or Colour Fields pop-up bar.  The only question remains, can locals come too?

The Airbnb and MCA experience will be held most Wednesday evenings from 6pm - 8pm during summer beginning on October 11, cost is $95 per person. The MCA is located at 140 George Street, The Rocks, Sydney. For bookings go to: airbnb.com.au
