New York, London, Milan and Paris - the world's foremost fashion weeks are done and dusted for A/W '16

And they've left us with some damn fine beauty trends to remember them by (aside from, you know, the collections themselves). The coming Australian winter provides us with the ideal conditions to put the moody punk beauty look that dominated the runways to the test - a vampy dark lip by day; gothic eyes by night.

If the forecast from Marc Jacobs, Dries Van Noten, Saint Laurent et al is a little too dark for your liking, look to the flashes of sparkle at Burberry, Giambattista Valli and Anthony Vaccarello; or swap the dramatic black lip championed by Rihanna's Fenty X Puma, Rodarte and Dior for the cherry red pout seen at Prada, Roksanda and Max Mara. Hair is slicked back on the crown but left to fall naturally from the mid-lengths - a look that lets you fake your own side fringe or experiment with '20s finger waves à la Marc Jacobs.

Amidst the myriad bold beauty looks of A/W '16, it was almost shocking when a fresh face appeared on the runway, but - luckily for those of us who can't let go of 'no make-up' make-up - natural beauty reigned supreme at Ralph Lauren, Lacoste and Nina Ricci.
