Chances are, your current skincare and/or make-up routine owes something to the Korean beauty industry - that beacon of glowing skin thanks to innovations like cushion foundation, cosmetic waters and sheet masques. The latest trend to take over the country? Jamsu, which roughly translates to diving or submerging, and - we do not joke - could be the key to the shine-free, full-time flawless face you crave.

Unlike other K-beauty trends before it, jamsu doesn't require you spend a small fortune on new product - in fact, you probably have everything you need in your bathroom already. All it takes is a basin full of cold water and some Johnson & Johnson baby powder - or any loose-setting translucent powder - to produce a matte finish in 30 seconds flat.

This is all it takes: after going through the motions of your usual morning routine (moisturiser, foundation, concealer etc - everything but your eye make-up), dispense the baby powder liberally onto the palms of your hands, pat it on your face until you've achieved a noticeable powder layer, then plunge your whole face into the sink. Leave for 30 seconds before emerging, patting your face dry, and voila! A matte complexion that, we're assured, stays in place all day, even in Korea's high humidity (you know what that means - the ideal beauty fix for the upcoming Aussie summer).
