As any beauty lover can relate, finding the perfect lippie has its limits. With so many different formulas, textures and colours to choose from these days, it can be an overwhelming (first-world problem) challenge. And testing out several shades in-store typically leads to over-rubbed, terribly dry, stained lips. Thankfully, makeup giant Sephora have created a Virtual Artist feature on their website, which has completely taken the guesswork out of purchasing.

You can now virtually try on thousands of lipsticks from home

For the first time in Australia, the Virtual Artist allows you to try on any lipstick Sephora stocks all from the comfort of your living room.  Using your smart phone's camera, the feature is able to map out the exact location of your lips and shape, where you can then test out dozens of shades, formats, and brands. And to make things ever more convenient, the camera acts like a mirror, so you're able to move around as you are trialing the new lipstick. But if you're not in the selfie-taking mood, you can also just upload a picture of yourself to see what it looks like (gotta love technology).

Need to compare your top picks? The app has a side-by-side comparison component, where you can compare up to four lipsticks to help narrow down your selection process. And once you've found the winning shade, you can purchase immediately with just one tap. But be warned, it's highly addictive.
