Tough luxe: a cool girl's guide to beauty, care of YSL
What a stud
And we don't know whether to be impressed or intimidated. We've reported on the re-emergence of rebel chic before, but this new collection is so edgy it cuts through all the rest. The have-to-get-your-hands-on-it product is the Couture Kajal 3-in-1, an intensely pigmented khol pencil, precision eyeliner and eyeshadow in one nifty package. The ultimate quick fix for instant smoky, it comes in four shades - black, navy, petrol blue and black green - all with 12-hour colour payoff. Other eye products in the range include the Couture Brow Shaper Mascara, a buildable gel-like formula, and the Couture Palette Collector Metal Clash, with an ashy gold, dark plum, chocolate brown, burgundy and lilac shadows.

But it isn't all about eyes - under the creative direction of Llyod Simmonds, YSL have also worked on what has to be a first for the beauty house - Couture Metal Manicure. Built for the alt-girl with a flair for high fashion, the collection includes a gloriously smoky gold lacquer to be studded with 'Cassandre' logo stickers and matte black foil lacquer that's best embellished with silver metal studs.
Also in the Pretty Metal collection are also three new Rouge Volupte Shine lippies and three new Gloss Volupte Metallic Shine glosses to be worn on their own or on top of lipstick for a high shine metallic finish. The collection hit counters in Australia this week.
