Although legendary make-up artist Pat McGrath was tight-lipped on what she used to create them backstage, all is now revealed: Gold 001, the magical first product from the make-up guru herself. A multi-purpose shimmering pigment that can be used on lips, eyes and even lashes, it goes on sale at 3am AEST tomorrow morning (a more respectable 12noon in the US). The only catch, apart from the insanely early wake-up call? Only 1000 pots of the glittering pigment are available worldwide.

"I've been working in the labs for years to see a pigment with this finish, and I knew once I touched it that it was major; there is something magnificent about its pure form that leaves me breathless," McGrath told press in the UK. "The resulting look is liquid-like, a gilded glaze of intense colour." Each pot comes with a spatula, mixing liquid and second life container to allow for endless experimentation with different finishes and formulas - use the powder dry or mix with the liquid for a molten wash of gold.
