He's best known for his starring roles in films like Interstellar - which warned of the damaging effects of pollution on the Earth's climate; Dallas Buyers Club - which sought to prove that traditional medicine is not always the best remedy; and our personal favourite How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days - title self-explanatory. But Matthew McConaughey's latest role has an even stronger message. The Academy Award-winning actor is partnering with skincare company Kiehl's on a campaign benefiting the Autism Speaks organisation, of which the actor is a global advocate.

The collaboration is centred around a special video of the actor spreading the message that "children with autism need our support and they need it right now." For every share the video receives, Kiehl's plans to donate $1 to Autism Speaks until they reach their goal of $200,000. Through the campaigh, McConaughey says he hopes that he can spread awareness and increase understanding and acceptance of children and adults living with autism - and raise funds for vital research and resources.

"Autism affects an estimated 70 million people worldwide, and many of the students enrolled in my Just Keep Livin after school programs are on the autism spectrum," McConaughey said. "I've witnessed firsthand the effects of autism, not only on the child, but on their families as well."

Additionally, the beauty brand is also releasing a Kiehl's x Matthew McConaughey Limited Edition Ultra Facial Cream with special packaging designed by the actor himself. Each face cream purchased will help to provide resources for children and families living with autism worldwide.
