With less and less time to spend in front of the mirror, these days we all need beauty products that do exactly what they say on the tin - and then some. Save your precious time with my A-list of multi-tasking make-up products, below. You'll never look back.
1. The Primer/SPF/Colour Corrector/Illuminator: Dr Jart Premium Beauty Balm cream SPF 45+, $49, sephora.com
This has fast become my recent favourite among a sea of primers, correctors and SPF-packed moisturisers: it not only protects my skin but also gives an instant lift! Packed full of antioxidants and SPF 45 +, it also contains an anti-redness ingredient that softens my pigmentation and diminishes blotchiness. As an added bonus, it contains subtle, pearlised pigments which give a stunning glow without looking too dewy.

2. The Long Wearing Foundation/Concealer: MAC Cosmetics Nourishing Waterproof Foundation, $54, maccosmetics.com.au
The newest addition to the MAC foundation family, this hard-working, watertight base works well as a concealer or medium-to-full coverage foundation. Oil free and budge proof, this is perfect for long work days with minimal time to touch up. I love the squeezy plastic tube as well - so good for my on-the-go make-up kit.

3. The Desert Island Eyeshadow Palette: Urban Decay Naked Original Eyeshadow Palette, $78, mecca.com.au
Believe the hype. This eyeshadow palette has become a beauty icon for very good reason. Every shade is truly wearable for every skin tone and eye colour - a rare find. The colour payoff is strong, so one brush sweep will colour the whole eyelid. It's a fantastic day-to-night palette: use the first half of shades for day, then the last half for a more dramatic yet natural look. And on the off chance you really were stranded on a desert island and in need of eyeliner, the Creep shade works brilliantly when applied with a wet angle brush.
4. The Eyes/Cheeks/Lips Colour: Nars Multiple Matte Cream Stick in Altair, $56, mecca.com.au
This is it: that rare colour that could almost work for anything on the face. A muted nude cream stick from Nars that works as a soft shade across the eyelids, a dash of cheek colour or perhaps a natural lip tone. All in an easy wind-up stick style that fits in the smallest of make-up bags. It's clever colour on the go.
5. The Lash Primer/False Lash Fibre Extension/Mascara: Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Double-ended Lash Fibres and 4 in 1 Mascara, $27, sephora.com
This product takes the idea of mascara to the next level. It has a 3-step application that first primes and protects the lashes, then builds lashes with the nylon fibres for volume and length and finally sets lashes in place for a long-lasting falsies effect. A great alternative for those who aren't keen to apply strip lashes or just don't have the time.

6. The Exfoliant/Resurfacer/Face Mask: Algenist Triple Action Micropolish and Peel, $75, sephora.com
It's rare to find a skin product that really ticks all of these boxes in one. That's why this Algenist treasure has been a re-buy for me a few times over. A real 3-in-1, it's used after cleansing and massaged in like a face scrub but is then left to set like a mask. Enriched in glycolic acid, alguronic acid and fruit enzymes (ingredients with well-known skin resurfacing benefits) the mask lifts off dead skin and impurities and leaves skin feeling ultra cleansed, polished and perfected. Regular use makes fine lines and pores less visible.
7. The Quintessential Makeup Brush Collection: Real Techniques Bold Metals collection (No. 100, 101, 200, 201, 202 & 300), from $39-$65 each, realtechniques.com.au
The beautifully perfected brush range from clever make-up duo the Pixiwoos has caught the attention of make-up lovers and industry professionals alike. Each brush has been perfectly designed for a particular use, which makes it the perfect set for your personal kit. The collection contains powder, foundation, blush, angled eye/brow, smudger and soft tapered brushes. Now available online in Australia.

8. The Sheer Setting Powder/Face Perfector/Overnight Treatment: By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra Powder, $79, mecca.com.au
The only thing this powder doesn't do is wash your dishes... seriously! This is one of my favourite products that can be used on ANY skin tone without making it look ashy. Not only does it impart a soft focus veil over large pores and fine lines while setting your base, but the hyaluronic acid imbues skin with instant plumpness and hydration. After cleansing, this powder can also be applied as an overnight treatment - now that's a true multi-tasker!
