Whether it's a need for added hydration or simply a flush of colour to brighten the face, winter begs for a little more to get you through the chilly weather

It's common to find your skin lacking its usual dewy post-sun complexion, but that doesn't mean you have to battle with dull, dry skin for the next few months! Here, I show you 10 luxurious must-have items that will keep your skin glowing this winter.

1. The sunscreen

It may seem like an odd product to mention in a list of winter essentials, but UV rays don't discriminate, even peering through the greyest of clouds. My go-to sunscreen for any season is Anthelios XL Fluide by French pharmaceutical brand La Roche-Posay. With little to no effort at all, the product melts into the skin and doesn't leave a white film like many other brands do. It has a lightweight texture and seamlessly covers the face without blocking pores or irritating sensitive skin.

2. The lip polish
Lip scrubs work to eliminate any dead cells, leaving you with a soft luscious pout. Start by creating a gentle lip scrub using coarse sugar, olive oil and honey, and using the fingertips, work a small amount of the scrub onto the lips in a circular motion. The Brown Sugar Lip Polish by Fresh is a lovely alternative to making your own scrub and also primes the lips for lipsticks or liners. For added winter hydration, follow up the scrub with a creamy balm and leave for 10-30 minutes, then dab against the back of your hand to remove any excess balm.

3. The all-rounder
One of my favourite multi-purpose products is the all-natural, all-purpose Egyptian Magic. This gorgeous skin cream is made from six of nature's most powerful healing ingredients including: honey, beeswax, olive oil, royal jelly, bee pollen and bee propolis. Having been tried and tested for over 20 years, this luxurious cream has become a favourite among celebrities, beauticians and doctors alike. Egyptian Magic is a must have for winter as it provides nourishment for dry hands and acts as a natural hair conditioner.

4. The organic moisturiser
Coconut oil is a cult favourite in the beauty industry, and with its multi-purpose nature, chances are there's some in your cupboard. Not just for cooking, coconut oil is a beautiful way to treat the body to some extra moisture this season, while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Coconut Magic do a beautiful cold-pressed oil without any additives. For best results, apply immediately after showering while the skin is still damp. Generously cover the whole body, focusing on particularly rough areas: the hands, elbows, knees and ankles.

5. The tools

The best way to apply liquid and cream products this season is with Beauty Department's new Precision Sponge. The dual-ended sponge quickly and effortlessly smooths product onto the skin, ideal for creating a flawless complexion. When damp, the larger side distributes face and cheek products, leaving an airbrushed look, while the smaller tip is perfect for the finer details around the eyes, nose and corners of the mouth. Simpler than brushes, the Beauty Department Precision Sponge is a fast alternative to applying make-up without compromising quality.

6. The cream blush
For added warmth, I like to use Le Blush Crème de Chanel in Inspiration as a soft flush of colour accentuating the cheekbones. The silky nature of this blush means it glides onto the skin with ease, and is best applied with a soft beauty sponge or by heating the product between your fingertips and smoothing onto the skin. Cream blushes are perfect for winter as they add a little more hydration than their powder counterparts, but still mimic a sun-kissed glow.

7. The lip conditioner
With such a wide range of soothing lip products on the market, there's simply no excuse for dry cracked lips anymore. My preferred brand is Jao, whose product LipJao provides a superior coverage and deeply moisturising finish. Enriched with shea butter, rosehip oil, jojoba and chamomile extract, this product combats harsh winter winds by locking down essential moisture and lovingly relieving chapped lips. 10 winter skin savers that will change your life (фото 3)

8. The exfoliator

The key to any beauty look is having a beautiful fresh complexion to work with. In winter, when the skin tends to become dry and flaky, removing dead skin cells that have built up on the face is the easiest way to achieve this. Chanel's Gommage Microperle Éclat is a maximum radiance exfoliating gel, which uses pearl powders and jojoba microbeads to gently scrub away old skin, leaving a brighter and clearer appearance.

9. The healthy glow

In winter, the skin dulls down from a lack of vitamin D and loses that summertime radiance. Luckily Chanel has a product designed to spark up the complexion with a lightweight formula of cotton flower and white rose plant cells. Les Beiges is an all-in-one illuminating fluid that soaks into skin for a natural glow. Apply to the highpoints of the face: cheekbones, bridge of the nose and cupids bow as highlights, or mix a small amount with foundation for an all over dewy appearance.

10. The serum
Sometimes even with a good quality skincare routine, winter still finds us wanting extra protection. Although skin produces sebum to penetrate moisture to the surface of the face, the colder seasons beg for an intense supplement from a serum. The Hydra Beauty Micro Serum by Chanel is one of the most effective (and luxurious) ways to nourish skin from within, purifying and hydrating with delicate microbeads. One small pump each day will be enough to leave the skin enriched with camellia extract and looking noticeably plumper.
